Overview

Plzeň is the fourth most populous city in the Czech Republic, located about 56 miles west of Prague. It is known worldwide for the creation of Pilsner beer in 1842.

Birmingham and Plzeň most recently engaged in a brewery exchange that resulted in a beer collaboration combining hops from Plzeň and Birmingham to make a new beer that was served at the Birmingham Beer Festival.
